Turning 5 is one of the “big” milestones in our family. It’s the last year in all the baby scrapbooks we’ve used with our kiddos, and this one is pretty special since it’s our last baby book to complete. We chose to focus the shoot around some of our favorite props that have been a part of this cute kid’s life since birth, and even before he was born. The yellow airplane has been a part of every year’s shoot since he was one week old. You can check out those awesome portraits in the newborn gallery.
Baby’s First Teddy, however, was his actual teddy bear that we bought for him when he was still in mommy’s tummy. He is the youngest of four and we wanted him to have a special teddy bear that wasn’t a hand me down from his siblings (since everything else in his life was surely going to be.) You can see the maternity portrait with teddy on our maternity page.
There are always special props like these that can be used throughout a child’s life. I imagine one day taking a portrait of this little guy graduating from high school or college holding this yellow airplane and possibly about to get his pilot’s license. They are portraits that will stay with out family forever reminding us of how special and precious this time in his childhood was.
